We’re Dan and Mel – a couple who like to send it.

We froth on quality snow, good food and trips that feel easy, fun and a bit unforgettable. After a mix of epic and very average Japow missions (wrong shinkansen, wrong resort, zero local info…), we decided to build the trip we wish we’d had from the start.

Dan has more than 10 years in hospitality as the owner of Wallaby Ridge Hideaway Retreat in Australia, a stay with hundreds of 5-star reviews and a big reputation for next-level food and hosting. At Nozawa Onsend It, he brings that same style of relaxed welcoming so you feel looked after the whole week.

Nozawa Onsend-It is our way of taking everything we’ve learned in the mountains and turning it into a 7-night hosted Japow package where you can switch off, ride multiple mountains, soak in onsens and not worry about the logistics.

We’re the Aussie duo behind Nozawa Onsend It – here to make your Japan snow week feel easy, fun and a little bit unforgettable.

  • Mel – media creator, podcast producer and yoga teacher

    Mel is a a media brand creator and the owner of PodcaSTAR and Newcastle Podcast Station. She spent 20 years on air with major Australian radio networks NOVA and SCA, and now produces podcasts for companies and influencers around the world.

    From our base in Nozawa she runs podcast brand creation retreats, helping guests shape their idea, plan content and even record their first episodes in our on-site studio.

    Mel also founded Unite Yoga in Australia and is an experienced yoga teacher. At Nozawa Onsend It she offers group classes and private sessions to help guests recover, reset and move better between big days on snow.
